THEME NIGHT
Directed & written by Jon Saks
James Kacey a native New Yorker and Traumatic Brain Injury survivor, found his first escape from the inner-city environment and his love for performing as an adolescent by following the examples of comedians such as Jim Carrey, Chris Farley and Robin Williams. His 14-year journey with mixed martial arts gave him his first taste of the physical and emotional world that he was yet to embark on. After a severe traumatic brain injury ended his career in martial arts and his love of sports in 2005, he turned to the arts to try and fill a space that they once occupied. In 2007, he garnered his first TV break on the Comedy Central show Michael and Michael Have issues, starring alongside Michael Ian Black (The State) and Michael Showalter (The Big Sick).
He can currently be seen in Ace The Case with Susan Sarandon and Ripley Sobo (Winters Tale, Matilda), in scenes with Lev Gorn (The Americans) which was released in theaters nationwide, as a series regular on AMC’s Making of the Mob: NY as Joe Bonanno, award winning To Redemption with Arben Bajraktaraj (Harry Potter, Taken), as a series regular in the new comedy series, Puzzled on Amazon, and the award winning feature film Influence, written and directed by Michael Bergmann, where he plays a severely autistic young adult in search of his own true independence on his very first date.
